Thank you for your response. Although I’d like to point out that most atheists do not believe that God doesn’t exist. There are two kinds of atheism:
Agnostic atheism, also called weak atheism, is the lack of belief in a god. Such an atheist would typically say “I’m not convinced that a god exists, but I could be wrong”.
Gnostic atheism, or strong atheism, is the belief that god does not exist. A gnostic atheist would say “I believe that God does not exist”.
This goes for believers — theists — as well:
An agnostic theist says “I believe that God exists, but I could be wrong”.
A gnostic theist says “I know that God exists”.
