Honest question, from a man:
I agree with the sentiment of this article. But I recently had an interaction where a woman said "Men are pigs", and I politely took issue with that, saying things that could be considered equivalent with "not all men". I mean, some of us men ARE trying to be allies, and ARE trying to help improve things for women (and other marginalized groups in society), even if we're not as good at it as we should be. And when people say "Men are pigs", I understand they don't mean me specifically - but why not just say "Some/most men are pigs" instead?
Also, I understand and agree that this "problem" is the DEFINITION of a first world problem, and it does not equate to 0.0001% of all the problems women have to put up with from men who are in fact pigs. But still, I think language matters.
Do you have an opinion on this that you're willing to share?
